About us

Founded by a group of experienced and passionate women in 2025, Bay Area Pug Project was born from a shared love of pugs and a desire to build a strong, informed community around the breed. We believe that true rescue goes beyond saving dogs; it means educating the public, advocating for responsible ownership, and collaborating with other groups for maximum impact.

We’re dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pugs across the country and beyond, while supporting brachycephalic breed enthusiasts and owners with resources and guidance to promote better care, improved health outcomes, and happier lives for these amazing dogs.
